The Carriage House

Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves during a winter storm, and the spirited bark of the sea lions in the spring when the herring arrive. Wake up to the comforting sound of the loon in the fall, and the eagles calling from the trees above you at any time of year.

And summer...well everything is just a little more magical in the summer. From the mighty squawk of the heron as it glides through the air, to cruise ships sailing past in the distance, to the sound of pleasure boats in search of 'the big one', to the crackle of the beach fire as the sun quietly sets. And these are just the west coast treats for your ears. We haven't even mentioned the feast for your eyes with the spicy hues that fill the sky at sunrise, or the sea life to discover during low tide.

When you arrive to the Carriage House the first to greet you will be the orca aristically carved into the shingles. Climb the staircase on the right and you'll quickly discover that you'll be nestled under a 600 year old eagle tree. We hope you remember to bring your camera, there is a lot of activity up there.

West coast casual is the best way we know to describe this warm, charming little getaway retreat. High ceilings, reclaimed wood flooring and wainscoting, antique paned windows salvaged from the famous Oak Bay Beach Hotel in Victoria, antique furniture, beach rock floor in the walk-in shower and just 40 steps to the beach...you get the idea.
